Neurological Clinic

In our Neurological Clinic, you will receive the help of a team of specialists in neurology.

Neurologist

A neurologist is a doctor specializing in diagnosing, treating, and preventing peripheral and central nervous system diseases, including the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. Neurologists use various diagnostic methods, such as neurological examination, brain imaging (e.g., magnetic resonance imaging), and electroencephalography (EEG), to assess the patient's condition and adjust appropriate treatment.

Neurosurgeon

A neurosurgeon is a medical doctor who specialises in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of disorders of the nervous system. At Magwise, our highly experienced neurosurgeon offers specialist consultations and is primarily focused on the surgical management of:

  • Cerebral vascular conditions, such as aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and arteriovenous fistulas,
  • Tumours of the central nervous system, including brain tumours (gliomas, metastases), skull base tumours (meningiomas, cranial nerve schwannomas), and orbital tumours.

During consultations at Magwise, patients receive expert guidance on diagnosis, treatment options, and surgical planning tailored to their individual condition.

Our neurosurgeon uses modern, minimally invasive techniques, including:

  • Microsurgery – highly precise operations performed with a surgical microscope,
  • Endovascular treatment – procedures performed through the blood vessels, avoiding the need for open surgery.

These advanced methods ensure safe and effective care while minimising physical strain on the patient.

Botulinum Toxin Therapy

Botulinum Toxin Therapy is a medical procedure that uses botulinum toxin to treat neurological conditions by temporarily weakening specific muscles. At Magwise, we specialise in botox therapy for chronic migraine, blepharospasm (eyelid spasm), hemifacial spasm, bruxism, and more — offering patients effective and safe treatment options. At Magwise, the procedure is performed by a qualified neurologist and may be guided by ultrasound (USG) when necessary, enhancing precision.

EEG test

EEG (electroencephalography) is a method of measuring the electrical activity generated by the brain. It is a non-invasive procedure in which electrodes are placed on the patient's scalp, and the electrical signals generated by neurons in the brain are recorded and analyzed.

VEEG monitoring

VEEG (or more commonly known as VEEG monitoring) is an advanced EEG diagnostic procedure that combines electroencephalography (EEG) technology with video recording. It is a particularly helpful tool in the diagnosis of epilepsy because it allows simultaneous monitoring of the bioelectrical activity of the brain and video recording of the patient's activity.

VEEG is superior to standard EEG in several cases, particularly when diagnosing epilepsy and other paroxysmal neurological disorders. Unlike a routine EEG, which records brain activity for a short period (typically 20–40 minutes), VEEG allows for prolonged monitoring, often lasting hours or even days. This extended recording increases the chances of capturing and analyzing abnormal brain activity that may not occur during a short EEG session. Additionally, the synchronized video recording helps differentiate epileptic seizures from other conditions, such as psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES), fainting spells, or movement disorders. VEEG is also beneficial for assessing nocturnal seizures and evaluating the effectiveness of epilepsy treatment by providing more comprehensive data on seizure frequency and characteristics.
